4 Days Desert Tour from Casablanca to Marrakech

This 4-day desert tour from Casablanca to Marrakech lets you see the best places in Morocco. On the first day, we’ll visit Casablanca, Rabat, Meknes, and Fes/Fez. On the second day, we’ll drive to Merzouga Sahara desert via Ifrane, Azrou, and Ziz Valley, and then reach Merzouga Sahara desert for an overnight stay in a desert camp. On day three, we’ll journey through Boumalne Dades via Todra Valley, Gorge, and Dades Valley. On the fourth day, we’ll drive to Marrakech passing through Kalaat M’Guna, Ouarzazate, Ait Benhaddou, and the High Atlas Mountains. We’ll drop you off in Marrakech wherever you prefer.

During the trip, you’ll have a great time with comfy stays and yummy food. You’ll sleep under the stars in a cool Merzouga camp in the Sahara Desert after a fun camel ride at sunset. Then, you’ll relax for another night in the peaceful Dades Valley with its beautiful views.

4 Days tour from casablanca itinerary

Notice, You won’t have much time in Fes/Fez. If you need to visit Fes you need to have more days. This tour can be customized as you want. We can add one more day in Fes so it will be 5 days tour from Casablanca. 

Day 1: Casablanca - Rabat - Fes

Wherever you are, whether at Casablanca Airport or a hotel, our driver will come to get you in a private 4×4 air-conditioned vehicle or van. The driver will also be your guide for the tour and can speak English, Spanish, and Italian.

The tour begins after breakfast. You’ll first visit the Hassan 2 Mosque, the biggest mosque in Morocco and Africa. After exploring everything there, we’ll head straight to Rabat to see Hassan Tower, Mohamed V Mausoleum, and the Kasbah of the Udayas.

As we continue our journey, we’ll head to Fes, a city famous for its old buildings and rich culture. On the way, we’ll make a stop in Meknes, another city full of history. There, we’ll check out the impressive Bab Mansour, a grand entrance with a beautiful Moorish design. Overnight in your riad/hotel in Fes.

Day 2: Fes to Merzouga Desert

After breakfast and a warm shower, the tour will begin. Today, you’ll travel a long distance from Fes to the Merzouga Sahara desert (470 km, 7 hours) via the Atlas Mountains, Ifran (also known as the Moroccan Switzerland). Then, we’ll stop in Azrou to meet the Barbary monkeys for photos and maybe feed them. Lunchtime will be in Midelt. After that, we’ll head to the Ziz Valley, where we’ll also stop for photos. Finally, we’ll arrive in the Merzouga Sahara desert in the evening.

Take a moment to rest before getting ready for an amazing camel ride across the stunning Erg Chebbi dunes. As the sun sets over the dunes, you’ll witness a breathtaking sight that words can’t fully describe. You can also do sandboarding if you are interested in.

When you arrive at the camp, they will greet you with a cup of mint tea and some sweets. Take some time to relax, shower, and wait for dinner to be served. After dinner, our team will play Berber drums, so get ready to dance and learn how to play drums. Enjoy your evening and keep your eyes on the sky for shooting stars.

Day 3: Merzouga Desert to Boumalne Dades

Our team will inform you about the sunrise time. Head to the nearby big dunes and wait for the sunrise. Breakfast will be ready after the sunrise. Enjoy your breakfast, take a shower, and get ready for our next destination.

The camels and 4WD are ready to take you back to the starting point. Choose which one you prefer.

Our next stop is Boumalne Dades. On the way, we’ll visit the Rissani market, which is open three times a week on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays. Then, we’ll continue our journey, passing through Berber villages, Alnif, and Tinghir, where we’ll stop for pictures. Afterward, we’ll proceed to the Todra Gorge. You’ll have free time for lunch and a short walk to take more pictures. Then, we’ll head to Boumalne Dades. Dinner will be served at your hotel in Boumalne Dades.

Day 4: Boumalne Dades to Marrakech

After breakfast, we’ll begin the next and final part of this Casablanca to Marrakech desert tour. The distance between Boumalne Dades and Marrakech is 330 km, which takes around 7 hours. Along the way, we’ll stop at Warzazate, a city known for its historical sites and film studios. Here, we’ll visit the impressive Taourirt Kasbah. You will have lunch in Ouarzazate. and then, we’ll continue our way to the Atlas Film Studio in Kelaat Megouna, also known as the Pink City or the City of Roses.

Another famous place worth visiting is Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site and one of the best-preserved Kasbahs in Morocco. It suffered some damage after an earthquake, but they are currently repairing it.

Leaving Ait Ben Haddou behind, our journey continues through the breathtaking landscapes of the Middle Atlas Mountains and Tiziz N-Tichka. We’ll also make stops for photos. In the evening, we’ll arrive in Marrakech, the vibrant city. Your driver will drop you off wherever you prefer.
