5 Days Desert Tour from Casablanca to Marrakech

On the first day of this 5-day tour from Casablanca to Marrakech, we’ll visit Casablanca and Rabat, then overnight in your hotel in Fes/Fez. On the second day, we’ll head to the Merzouga Sahara Desert, stopping along the way to visit Azerou, Midelt, and Erfoud before reaching Merzouga Sahara Desert, where we’ll spend the night in a luxury camp. On the third day, we’ll have a full day in the Merzouga Sahara Desert to explore its best parts and go on an off-road excursion. On the fourth day, we’ll continue our tour to Rissani and Todra Gorge, spending the night in Dades Gorge. On the last day of the tour, we’ll head to Marrakech via Ouarzazate and Ait Ben Haddou. Finally, we’ll arrive in Marrakech in the evening and drop you off wherever you’d like in the city.

5-Day Tour Itinerary from Casablanca:

Day 1: Casablanca – Rabat – Fes

Casablanca is the largest city in the country. So, we’ll start our tour by visiting its best places. First, we’ll see the Hassan II Mosque, which is the largest mosque in Morocco. Then, we’ll head to the United Nations Palace, a prominent public square, and the Corniche.

We’ll have free time for lunch in a great restaurant. After lunch, we’ll take a short 88 km (55 miles) drive to Rabat, the capital city of Morocco. In Rabat, we’ll visit the UNESCO-listed Kasbah of the Udayas and enjoy stunning views of the Bou Regreg River. We’ll also visit the Hassan Tower. Then, we’ll hit the road to Fes/Fez, where dinner awaits at your hotel.

Day 2: Fes – Azrou – Midelt – Erfoud – Rissani – Merzouga

“Enjoy your breakfast at the hotel, then take a shower. After that, we’ll head to Merzouga Sahara Desert. Along the way, we’ll stop at many beautiful places such as Ifrane, often called the Moroccan Switzerland, Azerou, known for its Barbary macaques and monkeys, and Midelt, sometimes called the apple capital. In Midelt, we’ll have lunch before continuing to the Ziz Valley, a lush oasis in the middle of the dry desert landscape. Then, we’ll pas from Erfoud, a city famous for its fascinating fossil products. Finally, we’ll arrive at Merzouga Desert.”

Get ready for a camel ride to the luxury camp in the middle of the Sahara Desert. We’ll pause at the tall sand dunes to watch the sunset and try sandboarding. After the sunset, we’ll ride the camels to the camp. Upon arrival, you’ll be greeted with Berber tea, sweets, and nuts. Get your luxury tent, take a shower, have dinner, enjoy Berber music, and gaze at the shooting stars.

Day 3: 4X4 Tour Around The Dunes - Camel Trekking & Overnight Luxury Camp

Wake up early for sunrise. After breakfast, get ready for an amazing off road excursion around the Sahara Desert of Merzouga. Once you’ve had breakfast and a shower, the camel guide will take us back to the starting point. If you prefer not to ride the camel back, a 4X4 car is ready to take you.

Our first stop on this trip is Eyeliner Mine, where they get eyeliner. Then we’ll go visit the nomad people, see how they live. Next, we’ll head to Khamlia village, a special place famous for its lively Gnaoua community. We can enjoy their music there. After that, we’ll have some time for lunch before heading to the palm tree groves. Finally, we’ll return to the hotel for dinner and speed you night there.

Day 4: Merzouga Desert – Rissani – Todra Gorge – Dades Gorge

After breakfast at the hotel, let’s get ready for our next day trip to the Dades Gorge. The tour starts at 8 am. On our way, we’ll visit the Rissani souk. If it’s Tuesday, Thursday, or Sunday, you’re in luck because those are the busy market days. Then, we’ll head towards Erfoud where we’ll stop to visit workshops that make things out of fossilized marble. Along the way, we’ll pass through Touroug and Tinjdad palm groves. We’ll pause at the Todra Gorge for lunch and take a short walk around. This place is perfect for rock climbers. Our next stop is the Dades Valley where we’ll spend the night and have dinner at the hotel.

Day 5: Dades Gorge – Ouarzazate – Ait-Ben-Haddou- Marrakech

After the brickfest at the hotel, we’ll take the road to Marrakech. Along the way, first, we’ll visit Kalaa Magouna, a city people call “The City of Roses.” Then, we’ll go to the palm groves of Skoura, where we’ll stop for pictures. After that, we’ll continue to Ouarzazate, known as the gateway to the desert. We’ll visit the studio where famous movies are filmed. Then, we’ll head to the best restaurant for lunch and continue to Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, known for its stunning ancient mud-brick architecture and its designation as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. After that, we’ll continue our way to Marrakech via the Atlas Mountains and Tizi n’Tichka. We’ll drop you off anywhere you want in Marrakech.
