Casablanca-Rabat

Our driver will pick you up from your accommodation in Casablanca in a comfortable air-conditioned vehicle. Enjoy a scenic 93 km drive along the coast to Rabat, the capital city of Morocco.

Let’s learn more about the places you will visit.

Kasbah of the Udayas

After about 1 hour, 22 minutes drive we will be in Rabat. Our first stop on this day trip is the Kasbah of the Udayas, a UNESCO World Heritage site located on the banks of the Bou Regreg river. It dates back to the 12th century and was originally built as a military stronghold and later became a residential area.

You’ll discover a picturesque setting, ideal for leisurely walks amidst narrow winding streets adorned with white and blue houses. Along the way, enjoy captivating vistas of the river and the Atlantic Ocean, presenting excellent photo opportunities

Rabat Medina

Next, we venture into the heart of Rabat as we explore its bustling Medina. The medina is home to various traditional Turkish crafts and goods, including textiles, ceramics, leather goods, and spices.

The souks in Rabat’s Medina are often less crowded and more organized than in other cities so they are easy to navigate. Wander through the medina’s alleys, admire the traditional architecture, and soak in the authentic atmosphere. Take your time to haggle with the shop owners who are often less aggressive than in Morocco’s three other Imperial cities.

Mohammed VI Museum

Continuing our journey, we will visit the Mohammed VI Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art. This cultural hub showcases a diverse range of artistic expressions from both Moroccan and international artists from the 20th century all the way to the present day.

As you stroll through the galleries, you will encounter thought-provoking installations, captivating paintings, and innovative sculptures, each compelling you to reflect on societal, cultural, and political issues.

Hassan Tower

No trip to Rabat would be complete without a visit to the iconic Hassan Tower. The Hassan Tower is a minaret of an incomplete mosque that dates back to the 12th century. It was originally intended to be the largest minaret in the world but was never finished. Nevertheless, it stands as an impressive architectural wonder and a symbol of the city.

Chellah

Our last stop takes us to Chellah, an ancient Roman and medieval necropolis. It features a mix of Roman ruins and Islamic architecture amidst beautiful gardens. It’s a tranquil place where you will get to explore historical tombs, remnants of ancient structures, and enjoy the peaceful surroundings.

If you are lucky enough to visit during the Jazz au Chellah festival and Mawazine Music Festival, you will have an unforgettable experience dancing to the melodies among ancient ruins.

As the day draws to a close,we will start our trip back to Casablanca. Our driver will transport you to your accommodation in Casablanca, marking the end of the excursion. We express our gratitude and eagerly anticipate assisting you with future travel endeavors throughout Morocco.
